At this stage of the play Macbeth has lost all human compassion and empathy so he thinks nothing of murdering innocents. Macbeth is horrified by the idea but his thoughts of going after his destiny still remain. Macbeth shows that he has a conscience and that he can differentiate good from evil. At this point, the audience know far more than the characters do. He showed us true evil that was both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, in order to make us realise what good must be. Macbeth is aware that his thoughts are corrupt and he knows that justice will somehow punish him. Macbeth could have told his Lady to stop her plans. First, Macbeth ignores the voice of his own mind. Macbeth is so stuck on the prophecie he feels that he is industructable. Macbeth, reveals that he knows what he is about to do is immoral, and that justice will be repay him with evil. Macbeth started as a good and loyal soldier and even though he was a brutal man who killed without mercy, he killed for his king and that was acceptable.
He showed us true evil that was both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, in order to make us realise what good must be. Now he is in dominance. He plummeted endlessly into a chasm of evil until his corrupt life was ended on the edge of Macduff's blade.

He knows what he is doing is wrong even before he murders Duncan, but he allows Lady Macbeth and greed to cloud his judgment. Macbeth is responsible for putting power into the hands of Lady Macbeth and letting her influence him.
Manipulation, ambition, and power got the better of him creating great inner turmoil, and bringing him to an abrupt end. At this point, the audience know far more than the characters do.
